Teresa Tramposch, founder of CORE Environmental Consultants, Inc., was recently featured in Buffalo Business First for her inspiring transition from academia to environmental entrepreneurship.

Originally a biochemistry and nutrition professor at SUNY Buffalo State, Teresa decided to leave teaching in pursuit of something more. In 2004, she launched CORE from her home, earning certifications, building client relationships, and overcoming the challenges of starting a business while raising four children.

When asked about her proudest accomplishment, Teresa said:

“Staying in business over 10 years—and maintaining strong relationships with employees, vendors, and clients.”

Her science background helped her pivot into environmental consulting, and with the support of programs like the Allstate Minority & Women Business Owners Program, she grew CORE into a 40-person firm with offices in Williamsville and NYC. The company now provides a wide range of engineering and environmental compliance services.
