CORE provided environmental compliance and construction oversight services for excavation activities at an active commercial facility in the Bronx. The work involved disturbance of an existing site cover system at a property managed under a New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC)-approved Site Management Plan (SMP).
NYSDEC Regulatory Compliance
CORE prepared the required NYSDEC notification for the planned intrusive work, documenting the proposed excavation, extent of disturbance, soil handling procedures, and environmental controls necessary to maintain compliance with the approved SMP.
Community Air Monitoring
CORE implemented Community Air Monitoring Plan (CAMP) requirements in accordance with NYSDOH Generic CAMP requirements and NYSDEC DER-10. Real-time monitoring for particulate matter (PM-10) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) was performed during excavation activities.
CORE provided responsive environmental oversight and community air monitoring during intrusive construction activities—helping maintain regulatory compliance, manage potentially impacted materials, and protect workers and the surrounding community.
Qualified Environmental Professional Oversight
A CORE Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) provided environmental oversight during intrusive work, including visual and olfactory screening of excavated soil and fill for evidence of potential impacts. CORE supported appropriate segregation, stockpiling, reuse, and management of excavated materials in accordance with the SMP.
Environmental Documentation
CORE documented air monitoring results, soil screening observations, material management activities, and environmental controls throughout construction. CORE’s services supported regulatory compliance and helped protect workers and the surrounding community during intrusive activities.
