HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TESTING AND REPORTING

CORE Environmental Consultants, Inc. was selected by the Niagara Orleans Regional Land Improvement Corporation (NORLIC) as a pre-qualified consultant to provide environmental services, supporting their mission to acquire and rehabilitate vacant and abandoned properties. NORLIC's efforts aim to return these properties to productive use, fostering better communities for future generations. Under the first RFP awarded through this partnership, CORE completed a series of essential environmental assessments for nine residences in Niagara County.

CORE conducted thorough asbestos surveys to identify asbestos-containing materials in each property. In addition, lead inspections were carried out to detect lead-based paint hazards, crucial for ensuring the safety of future occupants. Radon testing was conducted over the course of 3 days at all properties by USEPA 402-R-92-004. Following these inspections, CORE prepared detailed hazardous materials letters, summarizing the findings and providing recommendations for safe handling and remediation.

All work was conducted in accordance with the Housing Trust Fund Corporation's Environmental Compliance Handbook, ensuring that every assessment met stringent regulatory standards. CORE’s comprehensive approach and adherence to high compliance standards were pivotal in supporting NORLIC’s mission to revitalize communities by returning abandoned properties to productive use.
